EAT and EAT in BANDUNG.

Our superbly nice driver HENDRY who really show us where to eat good food.

Image yourself eating in small hut with a lot of greenies surrounding, weather is very nice, the wind is good and the food smells like heaven ...... and cost you less than RM100 for 6.

I don't care how much I uploaded this food stuffs because there are totally delicious ....yummy

You will be eating at the nice kabana and served very well indeed.

Nice restaurant ....just for you to satisfy your stomach. Nice restaurant, beautiful people and very nice sudanase food.

A lots and lots of " Ulam" to eat .... if we all can eat a lot of these may be we all will be healthier.

Wow the biggest " air kelapa" I have ever seen but they called with different sudanese name and I cannot remember what it was. You should try coffe mixed with coconut milk instead of cow's milk@creams.... delicious.


Don't ask me what it is .... all I know when you order something to eat that will include a glass of tea for free. Vegetables are very cheap and often it comes to in a bowl.


For meal, there are so many nice restaurants around for you to try out the local Sundanese cuisine. Among those are Kampung Daun, Sapu Lidi, Ayam Goreng Suharti, DapurKu and The Valley. I would recommend that you go to Kampung Daun and The Valley for dinner. KampungKu serves local cuisine and its located along a stream. Guests are allocated individual cabanas for the meals. Well who cares ...... find any good restaurant and EAAAATTTTTT

THE MONEY AND THE JEANS in BANDUNG

You can get a pair of these "BVLGARY" for around 165000K rupiah only which is around RM40 with good quality fabrics and follows the actually temporary designs. Color not faded as I already washingmachine it. And a lots of Tag you can choose from BVLGARY, HUGO by BOSS, ARMANI, VERSASE, LV, PRADA etc and to my surprise the quality of the fabrics is fantastically good. May be they can start with their own brand!

The Money ..... well the smallest will be 100 rupiah but nothing much you can buy with that. Then 500Rp, 1000Rp, 5000Rp, 10000Rp, 20000Rp, 50000Rp and 100000Rp. No wonder to buy a toyota innova will cost you around 120Million rp. If you're talking about millions dollar that is about Miliyar Rp. Forget the 500Rp because most of the time you will not need it. A bottle of coke will cost you 4000Rp. Taxis 15 minutes drive by metres is around 12000Rp ... and without meter will raise up 30000Rp so be careful.

PLACES for Shopping in BANDUNG

Shopping for clothing is a must if you visit Bandung.Don't bother about the mega shopping complexes. Try visited all those Factory Outlets Centres along the famous DAGO road you will be surprises how welcoming that place to you. Other roads include Riau and Ciwalk. For me it looks like a boutige, very cozy and relaxing places. Brand ? Well may be it is not genuine but you get most TAGs you want like BULGARY, HUGO by BOSS, ARMANI, VERSACE, VALENTINO, LA COSTE, LANGFORD, YSL, FERRARI even LAMBORGHINI etc. Quality of the fabrics are good but personally I like the choice of menswear available. A pair of those jeans will only cost you from 150K to 200K rupiah which is around USD20 to USD25 depending on the TAGS. With good exchange rate .... for any Malysian to Spend RM1000 you need to buy at least 15 pairs of these.



Looks good and you feels good

They are some factory outlet who promise to update their selection of clothing everyday to keep up with the current fashion. No surprise as Bandung itself is a city of fabric industries and a lot of factories around the city are doing contract manufacturing for those popular brands.....well that according to our "tourist Guard "

If you go visit during weekdays all these places are yours. Not crowded and you can bring your children along. With very spacious oulets, let them run around while you do the shopping and don't worry about them dissapear because the places are very well secured. You will be given a shopping bags or may be two to satisfy your need.

I don't dare to enter anything like these in my hometown because the set up looks expensive but here ...... you feel rich and you just enter and shop and don't care about tomorrow's budget. These places closed at 9 though because here the sun rise at 5 am in the morning.

Well ......so many places to go and we all manage to get a few.

SURPRISES IN BANDUNG CITY

1. Don't be suprise to be overcharge by the taxis and ANGKUTAN KOTA. Of course they know you are tourist and the taxi drivers opted not to use the meter, so irresponsible usually they will get double or triple from the normal rent.
2. I found out it is much cheaper to hire a MPV plus the driver. It will cost you around 400k to 500k ( around USD 40 )from 6 am to 9pm that will include petrol.With no obligation they will take it whereever you want it around bandung. From 6.00 am to 9.00 means you can have your breakfast, lunch and dinner at wherever place you wanted. Foods are cheap.
3. If you go sight seing please ignore the PEDAGANG @ street seller, they will overcharge and refuse their help of any kind to avoid you end up paying them for unnecessary things. For example if you happen to go to TAKUBAN PERAHU DO NOT follow the advice of the " paid " tourist guide ... plus so many "NICE " street sellers who will offer merchanmdise and favours all the way untill you gone mad. If you really want to go the active Volcano creeks just ask you driver to drop you at the nearest point so that you can walk 15 minutes to the area alone with no annoying " supporters ". Don't buy any merchandise there because you can get it at much cheaper price in the city.
4. Eat as you like .... CHEAP FOODs in Bandung. Eating very good food for 5 people at the fancy restaurant only cost you around 200K rupiah ( USD15 to 20 ). Bandung is food heaven.
5. Don't forget to do a lot of shopping .... cheap clothing at all factory outlets with good brand. I don't care whether there are imitation products or not because the quality of fabrics are excellent. Bandung is a city of clothing indusries in INDONESIA and may be that well explain why. SHOP UNTIL YOU DROPS.
6. For Golfers ..... yeah they say its good to ...... but I am not a golfers.

PLEASANT CITY OF BANDUNG

This was the HOTEL SUKAJADI we stayed on for 3 nights and 4 days. Small hotel with a very nice ambient. Easy to get taxis and 15 minutes from the shopping area. Just across the road there is a restaurant with good food. Renting during off peak days is around RM150 per nights depending on type of room.

NIce ..... looking at the GARDENISED area of the hotel soothing to my eyes.

Nice swimming pool with traditional feels surrounds. Mind you woods are cheap here.


The city of bandung I think is a pleasant place to relieve your mind. Being a Malaysian I noted that bandung is much colder. Not many mega Shopping Centres as in Kuala Lumpur but most of the so called FACTORY OUTLETS are small nice well decorated building not congested so my children can round around happily as if they were in the playground.

CHEAP AIRFARE WITH AIR ASIA

Now Malaysian can afford to travel to most part of the world with cheap airfare. Thanks to AIR ASIA. Just imagine for 6 people it was only cost us RM900 to travel from Kuala Lumpur tu Bandung and my two kids actually have their own seats. With two hours journey who need food onboard. No flight delay and hassle free flight. One thing suprised us the Bandung Airport is actuall a very small airport and you have to wrestle a bit to grab your luggage. Just like any other airport Taxis are readily available and tickets will be issued to you before hand to avoid overcharging.

MY PARENTS HOUSE

This is my parents house .. built in 1984. It has 6 bedroom, large kitchen , store room and 2 utility room. Built area 5000 square feet. Ugly looking but very spacious living.
